Brewer: Victory Craft: Hop Ranch ABV: 9.0%
Find this beer and buy every one you can. It smells so good! It tastes so good!
Victory is known for their hoppiness. And Hop Ranch fits right in like it was part of the herd. The aromas of floral and bitter hops come forward first, and then a little citrus aroma shows up as well.
The light yellow color reminds me more of a pale ale, which is surprising for an imperial IPA. I like that.
The taste. Oh, the taste. It tastes so good! The different varieties of hops they use blend so well together. The floral notes give this craft a lightness and airy character at the start. The citrus varieties add a sweetness, but not an overpowering one. The bittering hops – they are the star of the show. They add a depth of flavor that mellows, provides smoothness, and also leaves that warm, almost Belgian style bitterness lingering on your tongue.
Listen – it’s not often that I am so taken with a craft that I keep thinking about the next time I’ll be able to drink it. I keep thinking about the next time I’ll be able to drink Hop Ranch! It is that good. And Victory makes a number of quality beers. This might be the best one. I say again – find it and buy it. Enjoy!
